The estate lies between the limestone cliffs of Pic Saint-Loup and Hortus, with a Mediterranean climate and wide temperature swings that favor slow, balanced ripening of the grapes. The soils are made of limestone scree.

Bergerie de l’Hortus is an appealing red wine that combines fruit, freshness and balance, showcasing the craft of Domaine de l’Hortus.

The Bergerie de l’Hortus blend is mainly Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. The grapes are picked at peak ripeness to preserve the freshness of the fruit.
